The Wrong Question

Throughout this Gonzales affair there are several facts that MSM has chosen to leave unremarked upon. They are so basic that they are embarrassing.

[1] Gonzales works for the American people, and his job is to enforce and to uphold the Constitution. Which is a different thing than upholding GWB's flawed take on the Constitution. He has betrayed the former.

[2] The Liddy case has recently proven that even Ivory Tower occupants are bound by the rule of law. Liddy lied; Gonzales lied.

[3] Why is Gonzales not being prosecuted for lying to Congress? These lies short-circuit the balance of powers envisioned in the Constitution. The Attorney General should not be beyond the reach of law. His crimes are national and international in nature.

It is amazing that the imbroglio over firing federal prosecutors occupies so much space in the news, yet the more longstanding and fundamental questions are ignored. These questions are: How can the Attorney General allow kidnappings, secret prisons, renditions, open-ended prison sentences for non-convicted persons, and most of all, torture? These are all crimes sitting directly on Gonzales's head, but they are ignored by both Congress and MSM.

Gonzales is sworn to uphold the Constitution, and he has done anything but.

trip wire,

Yes, I'm afraid Gonzales's greatest contribution was keeping Bush off of Texas jury duty, which permitted Bush to hide his criminal record. The rest is history.
