Bush's claim to fame is that no Americans have died in The Homeland by terrorist activity. Of course, except for those unfortunate ones who were killed in the events of 9-11, which did occur on his watch.

Ranger asks, which is worse:

Citizens being killed by mindless foreign terror activity, or, the Constitution being killed by a mindless response to terrorism?

The Constitution being killed is much much worse in my opinion. I don't seem to recall any oath of office or oath of service that says anything about "preserve, protect and defend" American lives. I'm quite certain they all say to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States". The thinking of those who created those oaths of course was that as long as the Constitution stood that that would offer the best chance for all to preserve, protect and defend their own lives. And I whole-heartedly agree with them!

MB,

There may be a place for you yet on Mr, Limbaugh's comedy hour. Your credentials would make you quite a coup for that timid yet pugnacious crowd.
