N.B.: No offense was meant at referring to the Runner Up SamCooke thusly. Deryle is most congenial, and a true tough guy. Let the word go forth that this is the most manly of congenial prizes awarded. This ain't no Miss America. Jeez.

RE: Miss Congeniality Award
Why, I had no idea.
"Speech, Speech" they're screaming.
Well, if I must.
There are people here in Albuquerque that will come to your house and yell and scream at ya'll over this.
Not a one of 'em believing that my name and the word "congeniality " should ever be found in the same sentence., A 'sacrilege," the English speaking would yell, "how could you do this to the Queen's language?"
Then there are those who think so fondly of my heroics that they have actually been discovered putting my picture back up in the post office.
I am humbled.
Miss Congeniality indeed.
Details at eleven.
Deryle
"Retire the Award"
they're now chanting.
Methinks they mean it.
Deryle
Deryle,
You also win for Most Stylish Acceptance Speech :)
The eloquence of our readers continues to astound us. When we started this here project, we were anticipating a hardscrabble lot. Instead, what we have found is most humbling and heartening.
Well, I sent you guys an e-mail. Like i said in it sorry for the delay, as I have been a bit busy. I truly believed that my little bit of hate speech would be discounted because it displayed a Canadian specific response. This blog and its participants are, after all Americans, as I am Now, and who knows later.
Lisa, Thanks for the heads up in your debut as bar tender on Mil pub. Arabiato Indeed. The Abu Muqawama site is fast outpacing Phil Carter's WaPo hangout in troll count, as well as unhinged, sophomoric drivel from The CNAS PHD's.
I wanted to post some stuff in regards to Larry Burrows, but my computer RAID crashed because the last idiot who replaced my (in warranty) motherboard forgot to set it up correctly.
Burrows was the man. Catherine Leroy was the Gal. I have the Photo Book Requiem which highlights all the great shots from that set-to where the photogs bit the dust.
Burrows was with one of our sister battalions. We had Henri Huet (who died with Burrows) in a downed slick in Laos, with us for awhile, as well as others, throughout my tour.
Lisa, Why haven't you posted on Mil Pub Lately?
Anyways thanks again.
Fasteddiez,
I am applying for my CAN citizenship as we speak (my father is Canadian.)
I have always enjoyed your wicked wit, and thanks for the input on Burrows.
I have been most remiss at MilPub; FDChief's invite was humbling. I enjoy sitting in throwing back the shots, but I haven't done my turn with the barkeep's cloth.
In the presence of military history giants, I feel quite small. But perhaps I can add something soon.
Congrats.
