Being born is like being kidnapped.

And then sold into slavery

When you're born in America,

_______________

A simple observation: To get a new Driver's License one must show a birth certificate. This is one of the new requirements dictated by Federal mandate, yet our President will not produce his bith certificate.

This is bothersome. So the latest installment involving Army doctor Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin's refusal to deploy to Afghanistan intrigues.

Lt. Col. Lakin, derided by the left as a "birther", wants to see Obama's birth certificate proving that he was born in the U.S. and is therefore his legitimate commander in chief and can therefore legally order him abroad. Lakin failed to report to Ft. Campbell, KY, this week, remaining instead at his job in a Pentagon clinic
(Obama Birth Certificate – Controversy Over Document Causes Army Doctor to Disobey Order.)

Whatever one's political orientation, it seems reasonable that the president could simply display a piece of paper that would put this issue to rest.

A simple piece of paper.

UPDATE:

"The Hawaii Legislature is close to passing a law that would allow the state to ignore repeated requests for to produce the document" -- Why? (Hawaii Considers Law on Obama's Birth Cerificate.)

Hi, Ranger;
You know, I used to think the whole birth certificate thing was just an idiotic diversion created by the far-right wing nuts in your country to cast unwarranted and unfounded aspersions at the first and, as yet, only black guy to ever get elected president. After, however, seeing his performance and the way he has gone uber-corporatist in the year+ of his presidency, I kind of wonder also at the actual predilections of his policies and ponder seriously whose side he is really on and who actually sent him. So, asking for a "piece of paper" at this point doesn't seem to be such a far-fetched request for a guy who has blatantly lied to his whole constituency about his position on war, offshore drilling, the economy, jobs creation and governmental transparency. As Chris Floyd so well stated (and I paraphrase), who in their right mind would give up the controls and power the shrub's regime put into place before he and his gang left control? Secrecy above all. All things reprehensible and pernicious come from dark corners like the ones we see as your prez's new regime and even ours up here in harper's band of merry men. Ask for verification of birth? A truly simple matter to resolve with a simple piece of paper, for sure. The implications of the refusal, however, are what should be construed as sinister and possibly even direful.
Actions did and should still speak louder than words.

Hi Jim,
Carpenter is also curious about O's creds as a "Constitutional Scholar". I wanna see his transcripts. I'd like to see if he passed any of his classes on the Constitution, or if he even took any. Since Obama doesn't seem very good at math, a peek at his math class scores might be enlightening too.

Check THIS out.

UC,

Thank you. I am not surprised.

I always heard that wonderful disco-era song, "Do the Hustle," as O. was being marshaled through the hoops on the way to his inevitable presidency.

Dave,
What an interesting link.
One no longer knows who to believe, or what to think. FOI does not apply to institutions mentioned in the article -therefore it's hard to prove or disprove.

Hi Jim,
I, too, am sometimes not sure what to believe. A story on the Innertubes might be pure BS or a Story-of-the-Century. I am sure of one thing--It's fun to cast asparagus at politicians.

I assume that he has a drivers license or has at some point, wouldn't that mean he's already shown a birth certificate?

coathangrrr,

No. Rules vary by state; requirements for Illinois are found
here.

Any number of alternate documents will suffice.
