Ooo and it's alright and it's comin' 'long
We got to get right back to where we started from
Love is good, love can be strong
We got to get right back to where we started from

Words must matter or else we would still be grunting and pointing at things with dirty, jammy fingers and meat tofu would be a distant dream, since mastodon would be the kill du jour.
Words. They sometimes come hard for Ranger, but when they do, they mean something. Let's look at two which are saddled with all manner of baggage: Liberal and Conservative.
Proud and haughty are the conservatives, in a regressive sort of way. If they were dancing Disco, it would be to a spirited version of Ms. Nightingale's "Get Right Back" tune. No wobbly tofu -- not even Seitan -- for them; no mincing words. They stand behind the concept, right or wrong. Right is always right.
Lacking such surety, liberals are afraid of their title, kind of like a dachshund who might find his designation onerous should he see his full name written out. Liberals hide behind names like "Progressive", as if this will change their spots. A liberal is a liberal whatever you do, and calling oneself anything else is just deceptive and self-loathing. (In Florida last year we had a Democratic contender who called himself a "moderate progressive" -- what sort of griffin is that?) Liberals would probably dance to a dour "Private Dancer".
Liberal is a once-proud word that has been side-lined and shouted down in the din of political life. Yet, all that is fine and everything exceptional in American life is based in liberal thought; this seems lost on all involved. In comparison, one would have to search to discover any great conservative legislation that has added anything of substance to our democracy.
Why do liberals hide behind weasel words like progressive? Why do liberal cloak their true colors, which are red, white and blue?
Somewhere inside of every conservative there is a liberal that is a sellout and and traitor to the truth. The truth is that all conservatives serve a master that is not of, by or for the people.
That is a self-evident truth.

The thing is, jim, that there should be a place in the house for people of both flavors. We need someone to push the envelope and explore the new - call them liberals - whilst we also need someone to hold on to the old and skeptically examine these wild ideas. We'll call them conservatives. And both of these critters would share a common ideal for the U.S., based on best distillation of the founding principles of 1776.
But that's not what we have.
Instead we have a dysfunctional mess, with the "conservative" side gone bull-goose looney into a bizarro-world authoritarian and viciously individualist fantasy that would have had George III whimpering about inhumane despotism, whilst the liberals have lost their hold on the commonsense ideals of a central "Americanism" as every special interest group tugs them this way and that.
I wish I saw a way out. I just don't. The citizenry are too bored, too distracted, too jaded, and too confused to retake the resin of power. And the chances of finding a Washington or an Ataturk - an individual leader with the guts to make changes but the humility to hand over power?
I am truly out of ideas...

Oh G.D.,
You just-don't-know how adequate your lyrical choices always are:
"For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world"
Bad things happen to liars. Liar, liar pants on fire :)
Why would any faction that is going nowhere choose a name invoking 'progress'?
For the same reason that those hell bent on squandering everything on the planet want to be called 'conserve'-atives?
For the same reason that the Patriot Act and DOMA are anything but?
For the same reason that disciples of bigotry and war hijacked the name 'Christ'?
It's camo, plain and simple.
...or like the person who says, "I'm a 'people-person'", and she's actually the lying-est, thieving-est being around. Or they're a total selfish bore.
The Patriot Act, they fail to mention how thats been used against me and a close friend of mine to make us felons because of compliments of bosoms and cleavage or rearends thats not a crime that I should be jailed for. People should not be treated as threats who sell, have or use drugs, they are not felons and the U.S. government should apologize for misgoverning us through bad laws. The U.S.A would have been a utopia if the "sexual""harassment" would not have been put into effect along with those other two ridiculous laws about drugs and slaying infants:abortion which should have been illegal.
Those spineless pieces of jelly who call themselves of men flemincysts, oh excuse me i mean that stupid name they call themselves "feminists" and feminischism, they are a part of the problem of why our country never realized it's full God-given potential because we have no God-fearing men and women in office who want to rule with an iron fist over everyone through lies and deceit. Lies are what we tell ourselves when men compliment our bodies we rationalize adolescent behaviour by calling the cowards who hide behind badges and bring false charges against them such as so-called trespassing and hassling. Having laws against drugs and compliments does not teach forgiveness, instead the devil uses those laws to teach everyone to rule over everyone tyranically without pity.We have alot of women throughout the world who owe men apologies for intentionally misunderstanding their compliments for so-called harassment thats what the devil told them.
