America, Job 1

[Pollsters asked] whom they'd trust most "with successfully

resolving the war in Iraq. Fully 68 percent said military
commanders;
21 percent said Congress. A mind-boggling
5 % said
the Bush administration.

Five percent? Five? More Americans believe that Elvis
walks among us
than trust Bush to get us out of Iraq.

Don't you know each cloud contains

"The Way Forward" makes no sense as a descriptor for what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the Looking Glass it may appear that way, but if you are moving like a fiddler crab, you are not moving forward. That slogan was nicked from a Michelin advert, anyway.

In place of the misleading "Forward" campaign, we suggest GWB borrow from a 100% red-blooded American ad campaign (Ford):
America, Job 1.

That's about the size of it. A simple jingle that George could place on a placard on his desk, and it could make him happy, like looking at the round yellow carpet in the Oval office does. He could feel very important then, like a Ford Motor Company CEO.

This week brought a double-header of happy economic news: U.S. dollar hits all-time low against the Euro, while oil prices hit record high. I dunno about you, but all this mucking about in the cradle of civilization doesn't seem to be helping us very much in the homeland.

Shouldn't the Decider guy be marshaling forces to secure the dollar? Please spare the comments that a weak dollar is good for America.
It may look good on paper for macro America, but it is still hell on micro paychecks.

Secure America first; forget Baghdad.
