The Agony and the Ecstasy
But it gets a little closer every day
and I will hold it in my hand before I die,
you know there isn't any way that we can lose

We been robbed! At least, it feels like it, as we trudge on, increasingly feeling Hillary's pain. O.k. . . . no one ever said blogging was going to be a rose garden.
All our votes have been taken away, but so have everyone else's. The Florida Progressive Blogging Awards committee has decided that the race was just too darn close in six of the categories (including ours). They didn't say it was a tie, so somebody won, but apparently it didn't meet some undeclared spread.
So, they have stripped all the votes away and are starting from scratch today. And gosh darn it, being Florida, they will keep doing it 'til the right person wins. The delicious mystery is, we don't know who that person is.
The best we can do is to impress upon all of our kind readers to vote once again. You have six days. The contest is open through Sunday June 8, midnight. It's Florida, and the rules are different here. At least Katherine Harris will not be stopping the recount.
This has become a test of who has the staunchest reading audience.
Sorry to impress upon your goodwill and your forbearance, but please re-cast your vote for Ranger -- best national blog written by Floridians. There are only six categories, winnowed down to three contenders each. Voting should be easier, and you only need vote for us, unless you are motivated to vote for others.
We are in the Ranger spirit here, so we're tough. Ooo-rah. Once more, dear friends. Vote here.

Floridians?! I've been reading a blog, written by Floridians?!?!
I have to go wash my eyes now.
Sorry to disappoint, Mr. O.
Admittedly, it's a pretty poor state, but on the bright side, neither of your humble writers are INDIG, and stand in awe of the outrageous events the state dishes up on a regular basis.
You guys got my vote. Although I did have to dodge some soforp vote-suppression bully boys on the way to the polls.
I do not fault FLA for redoing the vote with the top three candidates. At least they take votes from all and do not decide by a caucus of the few.
Thank you, Mike. Oh, you don't KNOW the bully boys we've heard from! I think we'll write about them soon, as Spring is their usual attack season. In hindsight, they're quite a gas.
Yeah, at least they count all the votes, but something's not quite cricket: no one let me know there was going to be a re-vote. I just happened to check in at the site to see if any results were posted when I saw that the first round had been NEGATED!
If I hadn't checked in, I wouldn't have known to re-solicit. Alas.
Politics is dirty business.
South Florida (aka Death's Waiting Room) was the problem in 2000.
Oy! Not again. Heh ...
Yeah, Fixer, I think they're farmisht!
Arkhamite: I always liked the ring of "tourist death knell state" following the tourist murders a few years back.
Well at least this gives me a chance to vote for you since I hadn't been by in a while and missed the voting first time around. Is it only for Florida residents or can Vermont farm boys join in the fray?
Terrible, anybody can vote, as long as it,s for RAW. jim
Terrible,
Especially VT farm boys, as this will bring some much-needed fresh air to the state!
