Out on the OP - LP

Faithful reader Underground Carpenter suggested RangerAgainstWar might be an occasional advice site, and we liked that. We will call it, "Out on the OP - LP: Advice for the War Torn and Lovelorn©" -- that's "Outpost - Listening Post" for you civilians.

Since the NPR Car Talk guys are retiring this fall after 25 years on the air, we figured we would do our small part to open a forum for the nuts and bolts of life. Ranger will attend to the militaria, we will both try our hand at political queries, and Lisa will take a stab at everything else. We will do so with varying degrees of qualification, but always good spirit. We will also enlist the expertise of our readers.

This will probably be a regular weekend feature, so feel free to gather your thoughts together and use "Out on the OP - LP" as the milblog version of Dear Abby.

Hi Lisa,

Been thinking. (Again, Dave? Quit it!) Are you looking for salacious overshare-type questions or anybody-out-there-ever-seen-this questions?

What genre of questions will generate interest? Politics always seems to stir the pot, but it's hugely overdone everywhere on the Innertubes. Some angles, however, might be worth investigating.

Bless you for thinking, Dave. This is exactly what we are wondering:

How to provide something of value and interest: Sure, we are all politically and militarily involved, but how to go beyond that, or possibly integrate those ideas into something ... more.

This could be a philosophical project, but at this point, it's just an open idea. Salacious is fine, too (thank god for handles, and the "anon" button.)

Anyway, we are open to direction -- fire away. I'll put the logo up every Friday or Saturday, for a weekend of thought.

I hope.

And is Avedis out of jail yet?

:)

And those secret letters thingies seem to be getting impossible to comprehend.

The "sound" thingy is even worse. Maybe it's my ears.

bb,

I'm sure avedis shall update us soon.

The word recognition is terrible. If all the Russian gangsters would stop sending us solicitations, I'd remove it. I may just remove it soon, anyway.

Put on your thinking cap and submit a query to "OP - LP" ... this is democracy in action.

Hi BB. The saga of the people v avedis drags on. My lawyer's partner, who actually was the guy who appeared with me to enter the 'not guilty' plea, has been appointed DA. He assumed office about a month ago. Therefore, he cannot prosecute my case. A special prosecuter must be brought in and such a person has not yet even been identified. So we wait.

All of this expense, on both the people's and my end for a simple handgun. Bizarre.

BTW, due to my wife joining me in blog surfing (it's one kind of therapeutic activity to help her get through our son's deployment - we surf mil blogs and war news sites together) whenever I, the original avedis, actually type a comment, the handle will be 'avedis', but if my wife has contributed andor typed the comment it will be 'avedis2'; in which case the sentiment, thoughts and spelling, should not necessarily be attributed to me.

We have totally different handles at different blogs, but, for continuity sake, I thought we would continue with 'avedis' thing here.
