Mission Impossible

I'm more confused than usual. Weren't the recent elections a clear mandate from the American taxpayers that Iraqi policy must change? Contrary to his post-election conciliatory rhetoric, GWB seems to have adopted "stay the course" as the new "stay the course."
"(N)ot...before the mission is complete..." I thought we'd already been there and done that.

Would be nice to have a mission that is clearly not impossible in the first place, hey?
Its quite big news that you have practically lost Anbar province, by the way. Should do wonders for the sunnibelt to have a zone of refitting and redeployment. Unless you bomb the whole place to rocks and kill the 1.5 millions there, of course.
