Don't Ask, Don't Tell

You can fool some of the people all of the time,
and all of the people some of the time,

but you can not fool all of the people all of the time

--Abraham Lincoln

The Sunshine State's governor Charlie Crist has announced his engagement to his girlfriend on the 4th of July, a patriotic gesture, indeed (Governor Crist to Wed.)

This is an opportune "family value" moment for Mr. Crist, who is being considered as a running mate for Republican presidential candidate John McCain. But for want of an "h", Charles has the perfect name to go with his soon-to-be perfect matrimonial state, though the old-timers still make of it a hard "i", anyway. Crist, 51, even claims he would like to have a child of his own one day.

He should probably ask Tom Cruise and Michael Jackson for some procreative advice on the matter.

Oh boy. Just what we need, another trophy wife like Suzanne Craig (the rather ill-looking spouse of Senator Larry "Wide Stance" Craig, R-Homophobia) to "prove" that a gay-as-a-the-gay-mayor-of-gaytown queer Republican "isn't" gay. Sigh. But he hasn't been caught soliciting sex in a glory hole yet, so I suppose that makes it okay...

is there a special detail of secret service personnel that will keep mr. crist safe from scandal in public bathrooms?

not that it really matters, all he would need to do to rehabilitate his image is to sponsor another "defense of marriage" bill.

I think we should train our soldiers to shoot against the direction of rotation of the Earth, so that the target actually moves toward the bullet. This will result in a more efficient shooting capability for boots on the ground.

Arkhamite,

Lisa here: Jim and I differ slightly on the matter of comments. To me, this is a free-fire zone so long as the comments are not vulgar ad hominem attacks, because that gets us nowhere.

The goal is engaged dialog, and so long as you can enter the flow and make salient comments, all are welcome. Sometimes we receive comments that seem to make no sense per the post, and those are just ignored. No harm done.

You have made some excellent observations, and I hope you continue to participate.
