Iran's President Ahmadinejad is addressing the United Nations this morning. Same-same President Bush.
Before either commence their bloviations, let's be clear that the words of neither will pull the U.S. bacon out of the self-immolating fire. And Ahmadinejad certainly couldn't put our bacon in the fire. We are not implying that Iran is a client terrorist state, but rather, that our crumbling economy far outstrips terrorism as a threat to the stability of the United States.
Ahmadinejad will not have to talk about the dismal state of the Iranian economy. All he has to do is talk. He doesn't have to destroy the Great Satan.
The Great Satan is doing a "heck of a job" self imploding.
Labels: admadinejad talks to united nations, great satan, PWOT, u.s. economy

Talk about your bonfire of vanities, eh?
Never interrupt your enemy when he's busy making a mistake.

labrys,
I don't recall dismissing you from your corner ;) Tomorrow at noon you are dismissed from your punishment tour for sassiness.
Yes, it is a bonfire, stoked with our dollars. You'd think they'd at least provide the marshmallows.
Ahmadinejad certainly used the word 'Zionist' a lot... I did find it a tad hypocritical of him to be denouncing us for starving the masses etc... While Iran is similarly dispossessing their masses...!
CT,
Just coming in off the road, haven't see the text of his speech. I'm only interested in our masses, though (and not in the Catholic sense, so the Pope can stand down.)
Here's a CNN linky for his UN speech...
Check out how many times the word Zionist appears...!
CT,
I've heard this speech a dozen times, hundreds, in fact. It started in 1933. The guy's fruckin' nuts, bona fide, no doubt. Believe me, we will not buoy this fruitcase up.
My only point is that both Bush and Ahmadinejad are equally ineffective leaders. Ahmadinejad, though his position is mostly a titular one, expresses an attitude which is rampant and poses a great threat to the state of Israel, the U.S. is not directly in danger from Iran.
The U.S. is in the line of direct fire from Bush & Co.
jim
Hard to argue that, Ranger! Duck and cover...!
Maybe boygeorge will figure out a way to blame our economic catastrophe on Ahmadinejad, thereby giving the U.S. an excuse to attack Iran.
I'm reminded of the theory that one of the big, if not the biggest, reasons we jumped in Saddam's shit was because he was going to start selling oil for Euros.
Peter,
We're still singing the same song.
Now it is Chavez, too, as he is demanding the Euro for oil, as is Iran.
jim
There is a corner? Whoaaa...who knew? You best put the GOOD chair there, cause I am going to be there OFTEN if all it takes is sass!
