There is a Balm in Gilead

So now Mr. Obama, slammed by some of his fellows as not being "black enough," must contend with the geneologist's revelations that some great maternal relations bought and owned slaves.

From the annals of "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em," Ranger's advice is to buy a baseball cap embroidered with the logo of some trucking company or automotive engine treatment and wear it backward, in an effort to sew up the Southern vote, in addition to the black. I am speaking from swampland experience. Revel in the new revelation, which could be a positive for your campaign.

As the Times U.K. article notes, this merely shows your relatives were “representative of America." Certainly, this would help ethnocentric Americans dispel any xenophobic qualms over your "foreigner" African father. This helps makes you true blue, or even, true red.

By comparison, Bill Clinton--the “first black president”--was non-slave-owning white trash. He lacks the pedigree, despite claiming to feel our pain.
