Regarding Mr. Bush's gushing response, it is not quite Valley Girl, more at skateboarder / Orgeonian hipster. Perhaps mostly though, like the character Cartman on South Park. Sweet.

Pope Benedict XVI commented in his current U.S. tour on America's treatment of slaves and Native Americans.

Does this mean he is apologizing for The Inquisition and The Crusades? Let us throw The Dark Ages in, for good measure. (Having said that I hope he doesn't cancel my confirmation or graduation from R.C. high school.)

To our way of thinking, he ought to be apologizing for encouraging overbreeding among people who can't even feed their own offspring.

You may wear satin robes, Pope Benedict, but the majority of the rest of the world doesn't. You speak for the church and are not an expert on slavery and Native American issues in the U.S. The Spanish missionaries did not seem troubled by enslaving indigenous peoples in the name of god.

If you stay out of our government, we will stay out of your church.
