Thank God and Greyhound You're Gone

Ranger Question of the Day:
If the little details are ignored at the VA Outpatient facilities,
what about the bigger things?
Is this really the best we can do for our veterans?

_______________

One voice does make a difference. It might be a small difference, but that is as good as any.

Ranger re-visited his local VA Outpatient Clinic
Friday for some appointments, and noticed the televisions were no longer tuned to FOX news. Instead, all were tuned to CNN news. (On a previous visit, he had complained to the staff about this.)

No one could remember who was responsible for initially tuning the stations to FOX, nor could they remember a time it not been always on CNN. While it was reminiscent of a Twilight Zone episode, it was nonetheless good to see them showing what passes as unbiased news today. At least CNN is a damn sight less warped than FOX.

More fascinating clinic news:

  • My doctor didn't have tongue depressors for the throat exam. Instead, she used wooden Q-tips as substitutes. Ranger replied he would have brought chopsticks from his Chinese lunch, had he known.
  • She also reported that hand soap was in short supply, and that she had none in her exam room.

Is this what "Support the Troops" means?
